Simon Brogie's Banjo Brilliance

Simon Brogie was born near the bottom of the Hosmer Mountain. He started listening to Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs before he could remember, being drawn into bluegrass music by watching his Dad play guitar in a bluegrass band. At around age 5, he picked up the mandolin, 7 years later he started learning the 5 String Banjo.
He has won first place on banjo at the Roxbury Pickin' and Fiddlin' Contest in 2018 and 2022. Simon also plays guitar, mandolin, and bass and sings mostly tenor in the band. Other than music, he enjoys working on vehicles, building things, and works at Thunderbird Environmental full time.
